Introduction

This blog is designed to introduce readers to bands or acts that originated in Seattle, Washington. For those with an interest in these particular groups, you have found a good starting place to earn some about their history, career, and music. Most of the bands mentioned came out of the grunge scene in the 1980's and 90's. Grunge refers to a particular style of alternative music that stems from underground punk rock and often features dark and personal themes drawn from the writer's life and experiences. This leads to connection between the writer and listener, generating loyal fan bases.

Seattle and the rest of the pacific northwest around this time was isolated from most of the country in both culture and location. It was not the most known area to say the least and was primarily seen as land of wilderness and rednecks. It had a thriving underground music scene that was almost entirely ignored up until this point but that all changed with Nirvana's explosion into the mainstream.
